I have recently changed my horses bit to a Kimblewick and have seen a much better level of control. However, it is easy to hang onto a forward going horses and not allow him to jump properly when you arrive at the jump.
I had a thought and, just before bedtime, I thought of a picture of me approaching a fence hanging on and swished it with one of my hands stiil on his withers, flowing with the movement.
Next day, I jumped a course of working hunter fences at my local show and I automatically let my hands follow - what a difference. We tackled a bigger course than ever before and came 4th.
Swish patterns rule!
